Epilation is a process during which the melanin contained in the hair absorbs certain amounts of energy from the laser light. Energy absorption produces heat, which is then dispersed to adjacent tissues (so-called selective photothermolysis). The generated heat damages the existing hair follicle as well as the cells responsible for the process of creating new hair. The energy generated by the alexandrite laser is absorbed by melanin, so only hair that is in the anagen phase and which contains at least a minimal amount of pigment are damaged. Therefore, each treatment session eliminates only part of the hair (15-60%) contained in the skin. Depending on the area of the body, the number of hairs that are in the growth phase at any given time varies. Therefore, the number of treatments required to remove the majority of unwanted hair may vary. Moreover, darker and thicker hair requires fewer treatments than light and thin hair. The essence of laser epilation treatment with the Motus alexandrite laser is permanent damage of the hair structures responsible for its growth, and therefore - complete, permanent removal of unwanted hair. After a series of treatments, "reminder" treatments should be performed every few months (3-6).
In case of the Motus AX alexandrite laser, it should be sufficient to perform 6 to 8 treatments at intervals of 4 to 12 weeks (depending on the body area), however, the final number of treatments depends on individual predispositions.
So far, diode laser hair removal has been the most popular. The diode laser works well on dark hair, but is not as effective on light hair. For this reason, we have introduced a modern and technologically advanced new generation laser to our offer. No other type of laser combines such effective energy absorption by melanin chromophores - 25% greater than a diode laser, high peak power and the ability to select short pulse lengths. The use of these elements makes Motus AX operate on completely different parameters than previously used lasers. This makes it possible to remove even thin and very light hair, in which melanin is present in minimal concentrations. 1
Therefore, this laser is a perfect solution for people with light hair and for people who, after several sessions with other lasers (e.g. Vectus, Lightsheer), cannot get rid of the remaining hair - which, as a result of numerous epilations, is usually thin and light, so the classic Diode lasers cannot cope with them.
The laser is completely safe also for clients with dark skin, and the treatments can be performed regardless of the season.
The alexandrite laser also differs from the diode laser in its operating system. Motus AX is equipped with modern MOVEO technology, which is based on smooth and fast movements over the skin without removing the ending from the treatment area, using a 20 mm sapphire head. Working in this mode causes gradual heating, causing hair destruction in a painless and safe way. 1
It is worth to remain that the laser does not remove white and gray hair.
